“Creamy mozzarella is made fresh on the premises daliy. Aficionados swear it’s the best in New Jersey outside Hoboken or Jersey City.
Like any ham-lover worth their salt, Belgiovine’s knows that the finest prosciutto is imported from Parma.
The Citterio sopressata is slow-aged and seasoned just like they do in the ‘old country’.
Roasted red peppers round out the perfect Italian sandwich
A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar add the perfect finishing touch.”

Can we overlook the fact that my GPS took me through Upper Montclair to get to this deli and it hurt to know I'll never be rich and live somewhere this nice?
The litmus test for an Italian deli has to be their homemade sausage and/or meatballs and gravy ('sauce' or 'marinara' for you heathens) and on my first visit I went with the meatballs. And they were excellent. (They also knocked it out of the park with their breaded chicken cutlets, cold cuts and a few other odds and ends I picked up.)
To make sure it wasn't a fluke on my second visit I had to try their 'El Fuego' sandwich when I saw one component was 'muffuletta' (the traditional Muffuletta is without a doubt my all-time favorite sandwich and not something you ever see in Jersey). This heavy-duty sandwich was a scorchingly delicious work of beauty. My mouth was burning and I couldn't have been happier. (And all the other goodies I picked up on this visit were dynamite once again.)
Official verdict: Belgiovine's is fantastic.
Very cool staff (working their tails off behind the counter) to boot.
(It's Montclair so it should go without saying that it's a wee bit more expensive and parking is going to be a headache.)
Five Star Italian Deli in Montclair. Went for the second time last week and pigged out on a chicken cutlet sandwich with prosciutto, riceball, and pepperoni eggroll.
Can't wait to go back and order more food.
Doesn't get any better than Belgiovine! We come about 3xs a week. The frozen section is OUTSTANDING. I knew it would be good, I didn't expect t to be SOOOO GOOD! The cheese ravioli, chicken parm, and Manacotti are so fabulous! We've also had 4 or 5 different sandwiches, all fantastic! Everyone that works here is so nice which is a huge plus too
Take it from a guy who has been going to Nicolo's at least once per week for each of the past 20 years (and LOVE it). I hit Belgiovine's for a change of pace and I can say this place is second to none. Let's face it Jersey is known for great deli's. This joint is right at the top of the heap. I had a ham, spicy sopresata with a piece of fried eggplant sub and I WEPT over it! Go Here NOW!
We stopped in today to pick up lunch, the best sandwich I've had in a really long time.... if not the best I've ever had (I think it was called super combo). Very fresh and tasty.
Also they were definitely taking COVID precautions seriously.... employees all wore face masks/shields, and the online ordering process was fast and seamless.
Today was my first visit, but so glad I found this place. I will definitely be a regular now that I know it's here!!
Always amazing sandwiches! From the eggplant, to the chicken, to the Italian meats, all of it is delicious! Great place to swing by for lunch pick-up and now they also have a room next door to sit and eat if you want to dine-in. A good Italian deli
Best sandwiches in NJ. Take out is great. Frozen entrees are good but i would go with the eggplant. Frozen chicken and pasta gets watery but get the chicken cutlets. They are great. They get their bread from the biggest competitor in the area. Shows you how concerned they are about their quality.
Are they the best deli in the area? Quite possibly. Probably even.
Standouts: Caserta (pork loin, provolone, broccoli rabe), The Fonz (very crisp chicken cutlet, mozzarella and roasted red peppers), and The Veggie.
At time of review we are in the midst of a quarantine - they are open, doing takeout with prepay options available.
I want to like this place but im always underwhelmed.
Last time I ordered a specialty sandwich (think it was called mka) and they drenched it in balsamic vinegar.. Almost ruined it. Most people would have brought it back..
Also very skimpy with chicken and prociutoto..
I will give it another shot because its the only Italian deli close enough to run out to real quick..
I believe Rosarios in Watchung plaza is much better..
