“Creamy mozzarella is made fresh on the premises daliy. Aficionados swear it’s the best in New Jersey outside Hoboken or Jersey City.
Like any ham-lover worth their salt, Belgiovine’s knows that the finest prosciutto is imported from Parma.
The Citterio sopressata is slow-aged and seasoned just like they do in the ‘old country’.
Roasted red peppers round out the perfect Italian sandwich
A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar add the perfect finishing touch.”

Let me start by saying the service is great. First Italian deli in a while where I don't have to be macho/boisterous to get normal service. Oh, and they accept credit cards!
That being said, I wasn't too impressed by the sandwich. I got the Belgiovine special. The fresh mozzarella is definitely one of the best I've had. It was closer to the texture of goat cheese with its moisture and the crumbliness. I should have made it into a half sandwich sooner. There was just too much bread to filling ratio to enjoy it. Once I got towards the end, I took off the bottom half. This is when I really started to enjoy what I was eating.
Easily the best sandwiches I've come across in town. It's worth it to call ahead with your order if you are pressed for time. Perfection takes a minute to produce.
Try the pepperoni and mozz egg rolls (I knew I was in the right place when I saw that particular mashup of culture and flavor) and the breaded shrimp in the cold case.
I go here literally 4-5 times a week. The prices are perfect, nothing is expensive. The employees are very nice and pretty much know me by now. Their huge selection of sandwiches have never disappointed... I usually go for the Italian Super Combo, which is LOADED with meats, not like what you get at Subway. The cheesesteak oozes with cheesy goodness and probably one of the best I've ever had. Their pepperoni & chicken breads are another favorite, but it's limited when they have them because they only make them on certain days of the week. They also have these Chicken Rollatinis, which I've never heard of, but they are godly... Chicken wrapped with ham, cheese and then breaded into a small log. Also, around lunch time, you can get a lunch combo which they change daily. You choose a pasta style, and then add chicken mushroom marsala, meatballs or chicken parm, etc... it's different each day of the week, and you get some bread with it too. I'm somewhat of a promoter of this place at my job (lol) because I have influenced so many coworkers into going here on their lunch break and they come back to me and say "damn, you were right... that place IS amazing". One of the employees, Gerard, is always quick with his dry/dark sense of humor and it really fits into that whole sterotypical Italian Deli experience lol. He also has some sandwiches named after him, which are some of the best!
Things to know:
This is a take out deli, not a place to actually sit down and eat. They have seats outside and it's nice during the summer... but if you're looking to go in a group to relax and hang out, be prepared to take it to go
Talk about a sandwich!!! Wasn't too sure where to go on my lunch break and decided on this place ... Absolutely no regrets !!! I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The staff was extremely nice and hospitable! I got the "masterpiece" sandwich and it was hands down on the best sandwiches I ever had. I agree with everyone's reviews about the bread... Out of this world !!! 10/10 recommend.
If you haven't been here you are seriously messing up! Food is always fresh! First deli I've been to that actually cares more about quality more than $$$!! Delicious thin chicken cutlets! Amazing cheesesteaks! And delicious juicy grilled chicken!! And of course the mozzarella! Already salted to perfection and melts in your mouth! And to top it off the staff is really cool! Great food and people!
Best deli in the area...hands down ! A great sandwich menu and fast, friendly service. I've also used them for catering events and everyone loves it !! Things you MUST try: fresh mozzarella they make daily, store made Italian sausage (best I've ever had ), cheesesteak is to die for, and fresh frozen dinners are always in my freezer. They also carry great ravioli and make their own soups. If you live around here and haven't checked this place out...shame on you !
4/5 for the bread, 5/5 for everything else. 10/5 for the hot peppers--AMAZING. So good and spicy and I'm in love, I could literally put these on everything I eat.
I've tried a few of their sandwiches over time because I live two blocks away and everything has been solid. My only complaint is that I don't love their bread--it's kinda hard and it always cuts up the roof of my mouth! In my fattest dreams I would have bread from Nicolo's Bakery and all the dressings of Belgiovine. A girl can dream... or buy the ingredients seperately. But aint nobody got time for that.
Everything you want in a sub and more!
It was my first time, a friend had recommended Belgiovine a couple of years ago. They raved about it, so much so that I didn't forget when my craving for a sub kicked in. I ordered a turkey sub and asked for everything (LTO Mayo, oil + vinegar, S&P and oregano). I wanted hot peppers & the girl at the counter suggested the long hots. Great suggestion! ONE WORD- delicious! The bread was fresh and yummy, the turkey so thinly sliced but just the right amount to fill the sandwich.
Portions are sizable, I ordered a regular (vs. the large), but had to save the second half for later. They also have other homemade sides, and fresh vegetables, peppers artichokes etc. Definitely worth it, and I will be back!
Best Deli I've ever been to!! Hands down.
Great bunch of guys. Excellent food!
U guys need to deliver!
SANDWICH WAS GREAT Excellent food and an excellent Italian food store. They have everything could possibly want that may not be so easily found at my local grocery store. The sandwich I ordered was slightly expensive, approx 14 dollars but was excellent.
After careful consideration and a lot of deliberating over this, it pains me that i have to do this. I mean, at the end of the day, nobody should have to find hair in their food. So it happened the first time i ate here, but i decided to give the benefit of the doubt and put it out of mind, the italian sub was delicious anyway and i chalked it up to a small mishap. But when i returned for a 2nd time (my cousin and i order at least 4 sandwiches each time), and we sat down with our food, my first bite into the msu sub and i notice distinctly a hair embedded in my chicken cutlet. Not a regular strand of hair either. I then began to eat my other sandwich because i was now thrown off. Lo and behold, ANOTHER hair in my sandwich. 3 sandwiches, 3 hairs. I tell my cousin about this days later as i didnt want to ruin his experience and he says when he ate the sandwich he took home, he too found a hair in his food.
So, needless to say, this was beyond disappointing. Im sorry i need to do/say this, but, ill never set foot in here again. 4 hairs is too many..
